Your opinion - install client or use webmail?

We will be upgrading our users to Notes 9 soon.  Since this release now supports the browser plug-in for databases, it's really no longer necessary to install the client for most of our users.  We currently do not use local mail replicas, so the server usage would be no different.  We have very few databases that users access - and those that do are a select few.

Anyone have a strong opinion one way or the other about this?  I see the benefit of a client but again, most of our users only use the client for email so using the browser would be okay.  Using the browser for mail would definitely help with the speed of PC installs and re-purposing equipment.  We are seriously considering using some parts of connections in the future (like file share), but it will be rolled out at a future date if we decide to move forward with it.

Any input is appreciated.

We are looking at the same options.

Webmail Pros:

- Less support

- 1 password, instead of syncing your ID file and such, can be a pain for users.

- Only have to support a web browser, makes it easy for upgrades.

Webmail Cons:

- The sametime client in webmail does not currently support Audio/Video

- There isn't any sidebar widgets for Connections.

We will probably split our users up into 2 categories.  "Power Users" and "Basic Users".  The Basic users will get webmail and Power Users will still use a rich client.
